BARBARA ORBISON
As entrepreneur, publisher, businesswoman and estate manager of
legendary music artist Roy Orbison, Barbara Orbison enjoys a dynamic
life. Her latest venture, the launch of Pretty Woman Perfume is
especially personal and marks the fulfillment of a life-long dream to
produce a fragrance that embodies the beauty in every woman.

Since she can remember, Barbara was always concocting lotions and
potions in her kitchen, creating a delicious skin cream or mixing a
delicate fragrance. Growing up in Germany in a family entrenched in
the world of high fashion as owners of a couture clothing line and
working as a model herself, she spent many hours backstage at fashion
shows surrounded by beauty products. Early on she learned to
appreciate makeup artistry and recognized the importance of good
skincare regimens. She was also always fascinated with perfumes and
intent on finding just the right scent. She regularly experimented
with combing different oils and fragrances until she hit “the perfect
note.” She was constantly asked by friends, colleagues and passersby
what fragrance she was wearing because her scent was always so
appealing and distinct.
By the time Barbara married Roy, she had already formulated the type
of fragrance she wanted to create. However, she became immersed in the
music world, writing and producing and helping to manage their thriving
music business. Those demands, plus raising two sons, required her to
put her fragrance dream on hold until now.
As with all of her projects, Barbara has been intimately involved
with every step in the development of Pretty Woman Perfume. She worked
closely with noted perfumers to formulate a scent that bears her
signature. It’s fresh, upbeat, sophisticated, ageless and timeless.
She helped design the classic bottle which comes from France and worked
tirelessly to bring Pretty Woman to market overseeing all the sales,
marketing and promotion.
Barbara continues to manage the music empire she helped to build as
Roy’s manager. She often appears on PBS stations around the country to
introduce Black &White Night, a spectacular multimedia event she
helped produce to celebrate Roy’s music that features along with Roy
such rock & roll luminaries as Bruce Springsteen, Jackson Browne,
Bonnie Raitt, Elvis Costello, Tom Waits, T Bone Burnette and k.d.
lang. Her music company currently has several records topping the
charts including Taylor Swift’s single “You Belong With Me,” Gary
Allan’s “Today” and Emerson Drive’s “I Love This Road”, Honey Ryder’s
new UK single “Love In Time, and Robert Hart’s song “With You” in the
film My Sister’s Keeper.
An avid traveler, Barbara spends her time between her homes in
Nashville, TN, Malibu, CA, New York and London. She loves gardening
and cherishes spending time with her family and her many close friends.

THE SCENT OF A PRETTY WOMAN
Barbara Orbison Introduces Pretty Woman Perfume To Celebrate the Pretty in Every Woman.
“Pretty Woman” immediately arouses warm, upbeat feelings, bringing
to mind that iconic Roy Orbison song and conjuring up images of that
favorite fairytale movie. And now, the power of that name will
translate to an enchanting new fragrance from Roy Orbison’s wife
Barbara. This signature perfume, due in stores in (September – early
fall) promises to be a “scentsation,” capturing the hearts of consumers
everywhere.
Like the notes of a song, the notes of Pretty Woman Perfume open to
reveal a delightful melody of florals, spices and woods. It is a
complex blend of hundreds of individual floral and spicy notes. Its
crisp, luminous bergamot top note evolves to reveal a full, vivacious
middle note accord of stargazer lily, red rose and carnation. The
fragrance’s base note accord of fresh amber, patchouli, vanilla, atlas
cedar and sacred incense combine with a lingering everlasting warmth
and harmony.
“It has been a life-long dream of mine to create a perfume that
speaks to women everywhere,” comments Barbara. “I believe that within
every woman there is a pretty woman and my signature fragrance helps
bring that out that inner beauty, confidence and spirit so they feel
strong, empowered, sensual and pretty.”
Barbara has been involved in every step of the development from
conception to launch. She worked closely with perfumers to formulate
the exact scent she desired. She selected the bottle from prestigious
fashion houses in Paris and worked closely with the graphic designers
to craft a package and label that reflects the pure, elegant essence of
the fragrance.
Pretty Woman Perfume is currently launching in specialty retailers
including Planet Blue, Plaza Beauty in New York’s Plaza Hotel, Clydes
in NYC, and Fred Segal.
